Consular Conversations is a monthly series of luncheon interviews with diplomats posted in the Southeast United States.
Launched in 2016 by online news publication Global Atlanta, the series gives consuls general a platform to discuss their objectives while surfacing opportunities for business, educational and cultural exchange with their countries.
These on-the-record discussions use the power of journalistic inquiry to provide a grounded view of how happenings across the world are reverberating in the Atlanta community. The series is premised on the pragmatic idea that rooted relationships can serve as a compass for local businesspeople as they set out to navigate the vast, uncertain seas of the global economy.
While the in-person events are open to the public, Global Atlanta publishes written summaries with the goal of extending the shelf life of the ideas discussed and contributing to the institutional memory of Atlanta’s ongoing global outreach. This book compiles all summary articles for Consular Conversations occurring in 2020-21.
